The Chronicle Orb

The core of my work includes experimentation with sound and live performance techniques. To this end, I collaborate with other musicians and producers, make installations and multimedia works, and perform live improvised electroacoustic music in galleries and other non-traditional venues. Some of these activities have resulted in CDs or DVDs such as Artifacts, Two Rooms, Aerial, 4/22, and local performances at The St. Louis Art Museum, Three Sinks Gallery, The Galaxy, and Dunaway Books.

The music usually involves a combination of synthesized sounds and computer processed acoustic sources. Some acoustic sources used recently include a kalimba, violin, electric guitar, copper pipe, and turntable. The synthesizers that I use include a Moog Voyager, Korg Z1, and software synthesizers I have built in Max/MSP and Pure Data. I frequently use a Wacom tablet to control the soft synths.
